Kodo Sawaki, (1880-1965) was a splendid japanese Zen-Master in the soto lineage. He grew up being adopted by a gambler and an ex-prostitute. Because of his continuous travels throughout Japan to practice zazen with people everywhere, he began to be called "homeless Kodo."
The sayings of Kodo Sawaki have been published under the title The Zen Teaching of "Homeless" Kodo.

Zazen Boom (by Kodo Sawaki)
Nowadays we have a so called "Zen Boom". In all kinds of media you can find words about Zen. If you take a sharp look at these words you can read unbelieveable things. Once there is written something which one has heard half asleep somewhere in the street. Then you can read there that you can attain Nirvana by participating in a one week course. That there are ignorant people who believe such nonsense is only natural.
The buddhist view of life must be clear otherwise it will be nothing real.
